World Table Tennis Day 2023

World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) is an annual celebration that has been observed in April since 2015. It is a special day where table tennis enthusiasts from all around the world come together to honor the sport and its values of universality and social inclusiveness. In 2023, WTTD will be celebrated on April 23rd, in honor of Ivor Montagu, who organized the first World Table Tennis Championships in 1926 and was also the founder and first president of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

The main focus of WTTD is to promote the joy of playing table tennis for fun, emphasizing participation and enjoyment over competition. It is a day where people of all ages, genders, and abilities can come together and share their passion for the sport.

This year, sustainability will be at the heart of the occasion, with the theme "Think Sustainably, Act Now." WTTD aims to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and encourage actions that contribute to a better, stronger, and more sustainable world through table tennis.

WTTD is not just about playing table tennis, but also about making a positive social change. It is a platform for promoting values such as inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability. By registering an event and being part of the WTTD community, participants can join the global movement and contribute to a better world through table tennis.

As Leandro Olvech, ITTF Foundation Director, said, "WTTD is a celebration of table tennis, where we share our passion, bring more people to the table, and share a message for positive social change." It is a day to come together, have fun, and make a meaningful impact on the planet and people's prosperity.

So mark your calendars for April 23rd, 2023 and join the global celebration of World Table Tennis Day. Let's make this day unforgettable by showcasing our love and appreciation for the sport and our commitment to sustainability. Together, we can make a difference and create a better future through table tennis.
